The Alliance Française de Houston is a privately-funded American organization, a Texas non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation founded in Houston in 1923 with the mission of promoting French language and culture and encouraging French-American friendship and understanding.
Membership Benefits: As a member of the Alliance Française, you will take an important step in gaining access to high-quality French cultural programs. We strive to offer programming in art, language, architecture, cuisine, music, theater, travel, film, and much more:
-Discounts on group classes, free access to our 5,000-volume library including a French video collection and a standing invitation to our monthly Ciné-club, featuring French films on video with English subtitles, and access to TV5, direct by satellite at the Alliance.
-In addition to discounts or free admission to events at the Alliance, our members receive special invitations to social and cultural activities in Houston, such as French film premieres and art openings.
-Members also receive a subscription to l’Alliance, our electronic newsletter which details upcoming events, with articles in French and English.
